COUNTRY G R I L L
The Country Grill on Harvard Street in Cleveland Ohio is the last know Red Barn Type Restaurant that still served Red Barn food UNTIL the Fall of 2005.  Many people in Cleveland OH were very
sadden and shocked the day the "Grill" closed.  Every week my mail box  has 1 or 2 e-mails about the Country Grill, asking me, or someone I know to please buy and reopen it.

I just wanted to tell you that my aunt sent this site to me, I grew up on RED BARN FOOD!! My mother and most of her sisters worked at one in Cleveland on Harvard Rd. that still stands today and they are now called COUNTRY GRILL, they have the same orange tables and I believe the same owners after all of these years. I am 27, and I can remember when I was like 5 on Saturdays and Sundays they would have .19 hamburgers!  They also sold the fries by like the pound in thos paper boxes!!  They still wrap all of their burgers and have the cheapie frie wrappers. I have actually brought people from my job in downtown Cleveland there for lunch, every single one of them loved it and nick named it the Happy Hut! They are now the home of the TRIO!! Fries, drink and double decker sandwich with their special sauce! for like $3.25. Thanks for sharing your website, you have had to eaten at a RED BARN to understand!!

Oh, I have so many wonderful memories of Red Barn. I loved the "big barneys" and the chicken. Imagine my surprise when I was on the east side of Cleveland in the Slavic Village and I ran across this eatery called, "Country Grill" who patterned themselves after Red Barn. They even had a wall with framed pictures of several Red Barns!! I miss this place.

I found out from a friend that the place patterned after Red Barn in the Slavic Village closed. :-( Is there any possible way someone could bring it back? Their food is better than McDonalds and Burger King and their chicken is better than KFC any day!!

Here it is, almost a year to the day they knocked down the Country Grill.
Here is the "beautiful" building that replaced an American classic.
Our THANKS again to Rick and Georgia Johnson for ALL the time and effort
they give to keeping this site up-to-date.

A few days ago I received an email from Ron Todys, owner of The Country Grill.  Ron and his family were nice enough to share the final moments of The Country Grill.  Ron didn't know the Grill was being knocked down on the day he went by, he ran into the CVS across the street and bought a few disposable cameras and took the pictures you see below.  I could tell from Ron and Wendy's emails that they were very sad not only when the building was knocked down, but also when they realized that the economic conditions of the area could no longer support the business that they ran for over 20 years.  Thank you again Ron and Wendy.
